Tournament not created
[edit]For this and (some other similar ones) the use of "tournament not created" is not always correct - for many of the years the tournament was created by the event referred to was not; providing the actual reason for each year would be helpful. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Antipodenz (talk • contribs) 07:10, 17 September 2021 (UTC)
Problem with fitting pictures and 'Champions list' table in same line
[edit]I am having difficulties trying to get the table of the Champions fit in line with the pictures on the right. Trying
for certain names, I trying removing valign parameter, changing the width of the table. When I was finally successful, Fyunck(click) reverts it, claiming names were broken. It was the only way to fit the chart/table and photos in the same line...there was nothing else I could do, to achieved the desired effect without using break line for the players with two surnames. Anyone know a better solution for this problem of mine? Qwerty284651 (talk) 20:26, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- I'm not sure the way to do it either, but changing fonts to a small size and breaking player names in half is not the way to go. On my browser, (chrome) there is no difference with the names done properly. Remember each browser handles these things in their own way... you can't make it browser specific. To be honest, while the pictures on the right used to be too small, now they are too big. Fyunck(click) (talk) 20:28, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- Did not think of the different display on different browsers. A Firefox user here. Will resize the photos back being smaller, keeping the their text size intact. Qwerty284651 (talk) 20:36, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- It looks fine on mine whether large pictures, my edit to medium pictures, and now your last effort with small pics. Fyunck(click) (talk) 20:45, 19 September 2021 (UTC)
- Мust be the size of the monitor then, id est, the resolution. Is my last logical thing, Zoom is 100%....My resolution is 1440x900. What is yours? Asking out of curiousity. Qwerty284651 (talk) 20:56, 19 September 2021 (UTC)

Location of Titles by decade section
[edit]@Fyunck(click) I would like to have the Slams by decade section be relocated to the bottom just above the Grand Slams by country section for consistency with the other Grand slam-related tennis articles, which also have the aforementioned sections located at the bottom on their respective pages. Qwerty284651 (talk) 23:39, 19 February 2022 (UTC)
- I disagree. Those other article sections were moved by you without consensus and I feel it is impotent to be towards the top like it always has been. Fyunck(click) (talk) 02:03, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
Nazi Flag?
[edit]Why does one of the German players have a Nazi flag next to the name but when you go to their individual wiki page it’s the regular German flag? 2601:19B:8480:6620:645A:F2E5:E389:1EB2 (talk) 17:24, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
- I can't speak for the player's individual article but assume it's because she played for multiple iterations of Germany as a player. However she won the events while representing Nazi Germany. Other player's also show the flag they played under but usually it's a minor difference that goes un-noticed. Fyunck(click) (talk) 18:25, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
Sabalenka footnotes removal?
[edit]Hi, @Hyperion82:, I didn't outright remove the footnotes of Aryna Sabalenka's 2 slam titles not counting as 2x titles for Belarus, but rather MOVED the text in the lead for a cleaner look, because the same footnote was listed twice in the article ("the champions list" section and at end of the "slams won by country" section. See my edit history. I am not against the footnote. Just merging the duplicates into one. Best place for them I see is in the lead or "notes" section at the bottom below "see also" list.
Unless, you have any other suggestions. Qwerty284651 (talk) 00:34, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello. I reversed your previous edit. For me, it was not very good because these pieces of information were placed at the different sides of relatively long Wikipage (lead section, middle section, lower section). So for persons who didn't read information in the lead section till the end or didn't pay attention on this sentence it would be hard to put these pieces of information together. Therefore, I edited this page in accordance with your second suggestion (made general note and place it below "See also" list). Unfortunately, now readers needs to click on this note if they want to read information instead of just put mouse pointer on it (like with other notes at this page), but for me this is better compromise solution for this issue. - I unbolded the [a]. Fyunck(click) (talk) 07:45, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
- After careful consideration and subsequent viewings I feel the old design (from Jan 28) looks better. And "persons who didn't read information in the lead section till the end or didn't pay attention on this sentence it would be hard to put these pieces of information together" is a valid point. It is for us experienced editors to notice changes in lead, which can be easily overlooked by the casual reader and readers come first not the editors. By note section I meant
== Notes == {{notelist}}
for footnotes that many articles have. I will restore your 28 January revision. Qwerty284651 (talk) 16:12, 2 February 2024 (UTC)
