To Do
For the distant future, this article should be similar to the President of the United States and the Governor of Hong Kong articless. There are many examples on the Governor article.
Public information is available at gobierno.pr and [1]

Jones Act
I've just gone through disambiguating links to the Jones Act to Jones-Shafroth Act (or Jones Act). I noticed that this article implies it was passed in 1900, all the other links to it date it as 1917, including the article about it. I haven't updated this article because I don't know if the goveners between 1900 and 1917 were the same as those post 1917 or those pre 1900. Thryduulf 20:09, 20 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Seal of the Governor
I have never seen the Coat of Arms of the island been described as the seal of the governos, I have seen a simplified vrsion (a circle like the USA one, etc..) which is used as the seal of the goverment. Can someone tell me where it says tha tthis is indeed the seal of the governor? Cjrs 79 17:36, Jun 19, 2005 (UTC)
- I believe you are right. The seal of the governor has a circle around the Coat of arms of the islands that says GOVERNOR OF PR. I'll see if I can find it.<<Coburn_Pharr>> 05:01, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Jose Colon
After intensive searching, I can't find *any* information on Jose Colon who was, according to this article, Governor in 1939. (There is a Jose Colon that is the brother of Rafael Hernández Colón and involved in a minor scandal, but it's not the same person.) I have found a Congressional transcript from Representative Vito Marcantonio from August 14, 1939 here. That transcript says that (of that date) Blanton C. Winship was still Governor but the President had appointed William D. Leahy to replace him. Does anyone have a source to cite for Jose Colon? Is there an "official" governor list that includes him? If not, I will remove him from the list. (BTW: Leahy will make an excellent article. He seems to have been involved in a human rights scandal which resulted in his ouster.) Done!
Finally done. We now have articles for all American governors of Puerty Rico. :) I'm not even going to try the Spanish ones... JRP 03:35, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
"Governor" Pinzon
Vicente Yañez Pinzón was not appointed 'Governor' of Puerto Rico. He was commissioned as 'capitan-general y corregidor' of the city of Puerto Rico, with a commission to colonize the island of San Juan Baptista within one year[2]. As the first Spanish settlement on the island of San Juan Baptista/Puerto Rico was not founded until 1508, I do not see how he could be construed as 'governor' of Puerto Rico. -- Donald Albury(Talk) 16:46, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
