County or Club?
[edit]I think that it should link to the actual football clubs page or a link to the external website for the club, not the county. Ablaze 14:07, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
layout
[edit]I have linked the town or parishes name and if there was no town or parish name i put it in there as For example Lurgans clan na geal. in that instance i linked lurgan even though there is no mention of lurgan in the club name. i followed this with the link to the club website if there is one. It might get messy if someone wanted to write an actual article about the club itself. Eleutherius 11:58, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
I decided to just put an link to the club wiki article as well as everything else on the clubs that have such articles. eg crossmaglen in armagh. Eleutherius 12:36, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Link to the club when it has a site on wiki this isnt a list of irish towns . Ps add something even a . to your user page having a red nick looks bad (Gnevin 19:30, 8 June 2006 (UTC))
Move
[edit]Some of theses are hurling , i'm moving to List of Gaelic Athletic Association clubs (Gnevin 15:21, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
Suggestion
[edit]Link to GAA boards instead of areas so Galway becomes Galway (Gnevin 23:48, 20 September 2006 (UTC))
- I agree. --Eamonnca1 21:32, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
'Exiles'
[edit]Recommend we change this heading to 'International' or 'Beyond Ireland.' The reason is the shrinking number of emigrants and the increasing number of foreign-born people playing the games overseas. --Eamonnca1 21:37, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- Changed with out seeing this , it was not encyclopaedic anyway (14:37, 5 December 2006 (UTC))
Red Links
[edit]There's a fierce number of red links on this page, wild bad looking in my opinion. What say we pull them until someone makes an effort to create a page for their club? --Eamonnca1 00:14, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
- Leave it with me for today i'll see if WP:AWB can remove them automaticlly .If it can we can go through the list manually (Gnevin 08:55, 20 December 2006 (UTC))
- Ok going have to go through the list manually (Gnevin 23:08, 20 December 2006 (UTC))
Derry vs Londonderry
[edit]As per talk:Derry, the wikipedia compromise name when referring to the town is Derry, and the county is Londonderry. I assume that this article refers to it in the county form? In which case it should be listed as Londonderry. Any umbrage on the issue should be taken to talk:Derry. Biofoundationsoflanguage 07:55, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- This isn't referring to a city or county its an organisation, anyway i've raised it over at talk:Derry (Gnevin 08:35, 8 August 2007 (UTC))
- Righto. Fair enough. Biofoundationsoflanguage 12:37, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- As long as this is referring to the GAA leagues as the county usage, and not the physical geographic county then Derry is correct to use as the GAA calls their league that covers County Londonderry, the County Derry league and that is their decision. As a result as long as it is referring to this county league, and not the geographic entity then Derry is quite correct. And since the county name on the list on this page has always linked to the Derry GAA article it is talking about the league and that it quite acceptable. Derry is correct in this instance. I have check back 200 edits and it has always linked to the GAA article. Ben W Bell talk 12:40, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Camogie?
[edit]Should Camogie Clubs be included? The Camogie Association is a seperate entity to the GAA though it is also HQed at Croke Park. The listing of Camogie cluns here is partial at best - should they be removed to a seperate list?
-- Gramscis cousin (talk) 12:28, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Might be best to remove Camogie clubs to a page of their own and ladies football clubs to a page of their own, although camogie and ladies football in overseas units is generally governed by the local GAA authority. Maybe they should be included on both pages. --Eamonnca1 (talk) 17:26, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- No need to duplicate and create 3 times the work. I suggest moving the list to List of Gaelic games clubs Gnevin (talk) 08:49, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
