[edit]

lipoprotein lipase is an enzyme that breaks down fat ... Lipolysis

High fat diet does not suppose the fact that it is low in carbohydrates. In this way, it doesn't mean that LPL is overexpressed. It must be in HIGH FAT DIET with LOW carbohydrates for fatty acids to be used as a principle energy source.

It seems to me that a discussion (or at least a link) about LPL being the pharmacologic target of lipid-lowering drugs (ie the fibrates: gemfibrozil, clofibrate, bezafibrate, fenofibrate) which inhibit LPL would be useful.Peetiemd (talk) 21:05, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lipase

[edit]

What about supplementing with lipase, like in digestive formulas like Digest Gold and others that claim to have lipase enzymes in the blend...would that help at all, if it's deficient in lipase proteins? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Interestedperson (talkcontribs) 21:36, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
