LSM needs an entry in Wikipedia. Intgr added a broilerplate claiming "The subject of this article may not satisfy the notability guideline", but without explanation on discussion page. The format is alive and used, and with not much direct competition. Other file formats are described in Wikipedia too. However, it might make sense to create single page for all three file formats called LSM. --Tero 09:42, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
I'd like to add to notability that Google search for "Linux Software Map" gives 138 000 hits. Linux Software Map is mentioned in some sholarly papers, such as Koch 2005: "Evolution of Open Source Software Systems – A Large-Scale Investigation" and Dempsey, Weiss, Jones, Greenberg 1999: "A Quantitative Profile of a Community of Open Source Linux Developers". LSM is also mentioned in LDP HowTos. For example, Tranter 2005: The Linux Sound HOWTO mentiones LSM as "an invaluable reference for locating Linux software". Thus, I removed the broilerplate questioning notability. I am also slightly worried about this new trend of eagerly deleting content from Wikipedia. --Tero 09:58, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
