Linga Sound (Shetland) → Linga Sound, Shetland – Disambiguation for places normally uses a comma - requesting to make this article title consistent with others. Hrossey (talk) 18:50, 10 October 2021 (UTC)

- Oppose per WP:PLACEDAB ("With natural features, the tag normally appears in parentheses, as in Eagle River (Colorado)."). — AjaxSmack 04:12, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
- The sentence you quote is immediately followed by "Specific pre-existing national conventions may take precedence though." Lower down the page, the conventions for Scotland are laid out, which use a comma to separate the name of a place from the broader location of that place. It makes no difference whether the place is a natural or human feature, or as in one of examples both. --Hrossey (talk) 09:36, 14 October 2021 (UTC)

- Comment: While I don't think this particularly matters either way, I note that there have been several previous moves between these two titles and Linga Sound, Whalsay, the most recent by the nom and just nine days ago. Hopefully this will lead to stability. Andrewa (talk) 07:16, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
- Full disclosure: I first tried to move this page directly, without discussion, as I didn't think it should be controversial, but the software prevented me making the move because Linga Sound, Shetland already existed as a redirect. I then moved that redirect to Linga Sound, Whalsay to clear the way, without realising that the software would just create another redirect in its place, so I still couldn't move this page. I then gave up and made this request instead, but since as you say the page has been moved previously it is perhaps as well to have the discussion to reach a consensus. It appears that the page was created at Linga Sound then quickly moved to Linga Sound (Shetland) in 2013. In 2015 it was moved to the standard Linga Sound, Shetland, and has been stable at that title until last year, when someone moved it to Linga Sound (Shetland). My request is now to revert last year's move and return it to the stable and conventional title. --Hrossey (talk) 13:38, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
