What does "former nephew of Fidel Castro" mean? (The quote is "[L.D-B.] is the son of the late Cuban politician Rafael Diaz-Balart and a former nephew of Fidel Castro.") If he was ever a nephew of Fidel Castro, he still is, and will continue to be even when Fidel dies. Lincmad 10:04, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unbelievable Bias

[edit]

This is an incredibly biased article, one that would make proud the propaganda artists of the Cuban regime.

We all get it. The left-wing bloggers have stepped it up, forcing their propaganda all over Wikipedia's pages. These cheaters are so desperate for power that they'll do anything, even skew the means of information to their liking.

It is up to the Wikipedia community now: Will they take action and confront this vile indoctrination, or will they submit like most of our media do?

As a matter of political strategy, indoctrination tends to backfire. Nevertheless, I implore all REAL liberals who believe in the free and fair exchange of ideas to confront these unscrupulous bullies who have hijacked the rich and pious ideology of modern liberalism for the sake of cheap political gain.

p.s. I wonder how many Democrats on Wikipedia get half their article taken up by an arbitrary personal attack filled with hatred and negativity. And since when did Matt Taibbi, one of the most celebrated bigots of our day, become the authority on Congressional activities? What happened -- Did Il Manifesto run out of writers that month? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.154.177.178 (talk) 22:53, 13 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Wikipedia has a strong conservative bias, and I suspect you're a part of that. The irony of a right-winger accusing the other side of cheating and lying for power is somewhat amusing, though. 71.203.209.0 (talk) 20:25, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Biased and Un-Encyclopedic, Yes. False, No.

[edit]

Although I do agree that the article is slanted to the left and lacks the encyclopedic quality that a posting on Wikipedia should have, Diaz-Balart is scum of the Earth. Anyone who defends the likes of Orlando Bosch, an advocate of terrorism, should have his morality and patriotism questionned.

I can't wait until a serious candidate one day mounts a serious campaign for his office. Diaz-Balart's famous for his fear-mongering and pandering to the far-right, meanwhile there are "viejitos" in his constituency that are forced to choose between medical treatment and paying for their rent.

Bosch isn't merely an advocate of terrorism, he's an actual terrorist. 71.203.209.0 (talk) 01:52, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SurveyUSA

Of the registered voters, 632 were determined by SurveyUSA to be likely to vote in November. Diaz-Balart ran unopposed in 1992, 1994, 1996, 2000, and 2002. In 2004 Diaz-Balart won with 73% of the vote. In 2006, Diaz-Balart won with 60% of the vote. "
