Tearing

[edit]

From the article: "meaning that there is tearing in the image despite the fact that they are running in progressive scan mode." What does V-Sync / tearing have to do with Progressive scan... They are unrelated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.214.227.6 (talk) 21:04, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Episode 5, level 1

[edit]

Does anyone know how to get past Episode 5, level 1? I don't even know if this is the right page to ask this question on, but if you want you can answer on my talk page. Thanxx AnimorphGracie (talk) 12:47, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wii vehicles

[edit]

I'm pretty sure that's wrong, I just got it and there aren't any vehicles in the wii version that use motion controls. Prove me wrong, please.Allyourbasearebelongtousomg (talk) 02:38, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of characters, ships, etc.

[edit]

Please do not add extensive lists of the 100+ characters in the game, nor the levels (36 plus bonuses), nor ships, etc. Wikipedia is not a list of lists. If you would like to write a narrative about how the characters and levels are associated with the movies or novels, that's perfectly fine and encyclopedic. But unadorned lists just for the sake of documenting everything about the game are not. Almost every day someone adds a list like this, and, just as quickly, the list is removed. Please don't add the list in the first place. SeanAhern (talk) 13:19, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Presentation?

[edit]

Does anyone know how it will be presented? Will it be a compilation of both games, such as various retro collections (pick a game and hit Start) or will both Lego Star Wars games be combined into one single standalone game? I feel that should be added to the article for clarity, once we know the info. CardinalFangZERO 00:06, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have a point there; I'm not sure myself, but I'm guessing it will be standalone, because that way the characters can be mixed between both versions and other such deals. I was thinking a similar question, though: If it is standalone, then will it be in Dexter's Diner or the Mos Eisley Cantina? 69.19.14.21 02:10, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I don't really know where it will be either. But it is probably going to be somewhere different. --Scotty12 20:56, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I asked the same thing about wether or not it's going to be standalone and if so The Diner or Cantina on Wookipedia which, incidentally, has a hell of a lot more info. If possible, someone should get some of the information from there for this article. --Indie.Bones 14:07, 31 July 2007 (UTC)Indie.Bones[reply]

I've got it! At the end of the Comic-Con demo (featuring Episode I Chapter 1, "Negotiations"), you are offered the option to "Return to Mos Eisley Cantina." Guess we've got the good ol' cantina on our hands. 66.82.9.87 00:28, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Boxshot

[edit]

The cover of the game's case can be seen at the game's LucasArts Store page (note that you must click "Enlarge on one of the pages to get the larger image). That should be added to the article. 66.82.9.110 21:31, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

i think its fake. the case says its rated E10+ by the ESRB, but they actually havent rated it yet. that pretty much proves that its fake. people make that stuff all the time. --Coolgokid 05:10, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just did a serch for it on the ESRB website. PS3, Wii, and 360 versions are rated E10+, while the DS version is E. CardinalFangZERO 06:03, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly. Plus, why would LucasArts put fake boxart on their own site? 66.82.9.55 01:19, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Building vehicles

[edit]

Can you actually BUILD the vehicle like customize it or something cuz that would be awesome! also they added the Zam Wessel thing cuz in the first video game episode 2 only had 5 levels because they deleted that level71.2.38.191 13:35, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Central Area

[edit]

Have they announced yet where the Central Area in this game will be? I think that is pretty important to the original fans. The only good place I can think of is the Jedi Library, but if anyone knows for sure add it on somewhere please. (in case anyone has no idea what I'm referring to when I say 'central area', it's the place you go to to move in between levels) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.226.125.25 (talk) 01:28, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1080p Xbox 360 version

[edit]

For ages the article said that the Xbox 360 version was in 1080i. Anyone get any sources proving its in 1080p like the PS3 version? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.237.167.217 (talk) 05:32, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I own a copy for 360. The back of the box says it'll run 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. I know me saying it isn't good enough, but that's what is on the box. CardinalFangZERO (talk) 14:07, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The same thing's true for me. Unfortunatley I don't have a digital camera, but maybe someone can take a photo to prof it.--84.60.229.23 (talk) 22:00, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Total Rewrite

[edit]

I was just doing some small edits on this and found that really, the article needs a total rewrite. This is a case where too many people have been so determined to add one single idea or feature that they know about that they have disregarded the other sentences about the same thing. I tried to reduce redundancies, but I don't have the time right now to redo everything. There is a large amount of info that is contradictory from one part of the article to another, there are still numerous redundant statements, and there are many other things just plain missing from the game description. So, does anyone want to take this on or should I just do it in a few days when I have more time to really do it justice? CokeBear (talk) 14:18, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add huge lists of levels, characters, vehicles and such. These lists are not what we would expect in an encyclopedia. If someone wants to add several paragraphs discussing the levels, with descriptions of their various challenges, that would be fine. But wikipedia is not meant to be huge lists of unadorned content. why not pc?

[edit]

Okay, so they explained why they didn't do a psp port, but what about pc? Do they don't want super modifications in the game? Do they don't want to go heavy in system requirements (most people hate Vista and all), do they like tearing and don't want any Vsync? Why? 96.228.27.154 (talk) 20:19, 9 January 2008 (UTC) I'm pretty sure there is oneAllyourbasearebelongtousomg (talk) 02:36, 10 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Piracy. Less and less developers are making games for the PC nowadays, especially when there's also console versions. Look at GTAIV for example. Why release it on the PC and have it pirated within the first four minutes of release, when they can have it on consoles and charge twice as much for it? Crysis was hyped up to be a triple A game, and proved to be very popular, but it still somehow managed to sell very poorly.172.216.238.21 (talk) 01:14, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
... The XBOX 360 version of GTA IV was uploaded weeks before release.... piracy is not limited to PC, and console piracy is occurring more and more, some games its easier to find pirated console versions than PC versions. The real reason for lack of PC releases is that game makers don't consider the PC to be big gaming platform, especially for third person games. (FPS is usually the other way around) Nar Matteru (talk) 13:45, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion for PC Version

[edit]

Can we make an initiative to expand this article to include the PC version of this game as well as make mention of new features added by the PC version? ⒺⓋⒾⓁⒼⓄⒽⒶⓃ talk 14:12, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, we can, easily. On one condition. Will someone, as I've asked twice nicely when deleting stuff about a PC version, please find a source stating when it was released and everything. If it just gets added in with absolutely no sources and nothing else in the text (and no publicity that I've seen), I'm going to assume vandalism. Find a source, and it stays. Since the PC version has now been raised on the talk page, I'm more willing to believe it actually exists now anyway. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 15:26, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And I mean a better source than Amazon. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 15:32, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I hate to use it as a source, but my knowledge of it's existence was triggered by a cracked copy (It apparently uses SecuROM protection) being reported on in a news rss feed last night. Entirely taken aback, I went to research it's existence and found product listings on Amazon (as mentioned), Barnes and Noble, NewEgg all ready and available for purchase as a Games For Windows title (Not Live Enabled, apparently). I also found a page for it on GameSpot. It seems the only party which has failed to even acknowledge the title's existence is LucasArts as their product page is absent of a listing for the PC version. This kind of leaves us cold in terms of providing System Requirements assuming that the system requirements are the same for "The Original Trilogy". ⒺⓋⒾⓁⒼⓄⒽⒶⓃ talk 23:26, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Games for Windows is notably absent of a product listing for the compilation as well, but does make mention of The Original Trilogy. ⒺⓋⒾⓁⒼⓄⒽⒶⓃ talk 23:36, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting oversights. Oh, well. If no-one's found a source by November 6th, I'm going to GAME on that day to pick up Dragon Age: Origins. While I'm there, I'll pick up the PC version (if they have a copy) and find the specs. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 10:55, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Aspect Ratio

[edit]

I added the aspect ratio for the Nintendo DS just for completion purposes since we got the aspect ratio of the other ports. 65.191.25.169 (talk) 22:09, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oops. Sorry, hadn't noticed this before I reverted it. See my edit summary and then continue on either this talk page or mine. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 09:41, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Shouldn't it be mention for completion purposes? or should we not mention it due to it being not really a unique aspect? 65.191.25.169 (talk) 14:57, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We don't mention it because it's the same for all DS games. If there was another aspect ratio and DS games had a fifty-fifty split (or any sort of split really) between the two, we'd mention it, but as it's the only ratio, only the DS page carries the information. At least, that's my understanding of the rules. If you'd like more consensus (not many people seem active on this page), you can bring it up at WPVG, giving them a link to this thread as a reference. --ThejadefalconSing your songThe bird's seeds 11:04, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"The aim of the game is to collect the gold bricks..."

[edit]

Err, this should probably not be the first sentence of the gameplay section. It may be the aim of the game for completionists, but not for the average gamer. The aim of the game is to play through the levels based on the movies, anything beyond that is extra. In fact, it might just be better to not say "The aim of the game is...". Backwards compatibility counts for platforms?

[edit]

Are we sure we should be counting Xbox One backwards compatibility in the platforms list? If this is the case shouldn't we list the PS3 on pretty much every PS1 game considering every PS3 is fully backwards compatible with the PS1? Shouldn't we put on PS2 games something like "PS3 (backwards compatibility with some consoles)." Doesn't this sound silly? Isn't listing Xbox One because of backwards compatibility missing the point of the platforms list? 72.233.179.86 (talk) 19:57, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, well I'm going to remove it then. 72.233.179.73 (talk) 20:19, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Semiprotection request for 1 month (January 2020)

[edit]

I think we should semiprotect this page from 1 week to 1 month for disruptive editing. This one IP from Massachusetts keeps reverting the beginning of the page to say the game is the main inspiration for the movies. Also the other IP that did this recently is like 10 minutes away from the IP of the other one so I think we should protect this and give the IP's a warning. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.116.29.100 (talk) 15:02, 1 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Should most of the Gameplay section from Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy be copied over to this article? Being a featured article, the section on that page is much more comprehensive and well written, and covers the main gameplay aspects of this game as well. The new gameplay elements from this page can then be merged in. The only thing would be that the sources for the gameplay would be mostly from Lego Star Wars II; I am not sure whether or not that would be appropriate. Yeeno (talk) 🍁 03:04, 14 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've always felt that it's better to just refer to and wikilink to another article rather than copy-and-paste large chunks of that article, since the latter method needlessly doubles the required maintenance work for a single lump of text, and inevitably you get constructive editors who don't know that the text is just a mirror, and so they edit improvements into one article without copying them into the other one. It becomes a real mess over time.--Martin IIIa (talk) 14:26, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
