Provisional League Table 2006/2007

[edit]

The league table is color coded with a variety of colors but, no explanation has been offered regarding the meaning of colors. As I do not understand the color coding given to the table can someone kindly make this essential change?

Match Day Representation

[edit]

By the end of the season we will have 38 match days that will make this page very large. Moreover, there are no links between results Table and the actual results tabulated in detailed results. Kindly look into the format use by FA Premier League. It is much more organized. -- Tirupraveen 09:20, 13 November(UTC)

Cheers for copying the Serie A setup for the linked results on Premier League btw :) Niall123 19:26, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Results Table

[edit]

Just to say that edits by IP users and a few reg users has lead the results table to be a complete mess. According to it at the moment, most return games have been played and about 30 rounds have been played. Niall123 19:38, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The results table should be fixed now....it is based upon the template set in the EPL pages. Please note that every game played should show up once, not twice. 206.47.220.198 20:31, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It was messed up again, I think i got it back the way it should be... --Denvesletigeren 13:14, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Goalscorers?

[edit]

Any reason why the (top) goalscorers page/table is gone?

UEFA Cup/Copa del Rey

[edit]

That explanation about the Copa del Rey and entry into the UEFA Cup does not make sense. I don't know the exact rules, but whoever got those rules and from where? It's basically saying, 'if the finalists of the Copa del Rey finsh between 1st and 6th then 7th gets into the UEFA Cup. If the finalists of the UEFA Cup finish between 1st and 5th then 7th gets into the UEFA Cup'. 211.30.184.220 08:16, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If think the rules to classify to the UEFA Cup are: 1. 5th place, 6th place, Copa del Rey's winner; 2. Copa del Rey's runner-up if Copa del Rey's winner is placed between 1st and 6th or the UEFA Cup's winner; 3. 7th place if the Copa del Rey's finalists are placed between 1st and 6th or the UEFA Cup's winner; 4. 8th place if the Copa del Rey's finalists and UEFA Cup's winner (if Spanish, of course) are placed between 1st and 7th. Positions

[edit]

Why is Real Madrid placed as 1st above Barcelona? I think Barcelona's better goal difference should place them above Real.

Below the table there is an explanation about the classification rules.--ClaudioMB 23:46, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But why? Shouldnt GD come into play immediately if there is a tie? Phs1234 23:05, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Now, there is a explanation La_Liga_-_2006/2007#Current_Standings.--ClaudioMB 17:23, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Triple tie

[edit]

So if Valencia wins and FCB and Madrid draws... Madrid wins the championship, right? --Howard the Duck 16:07, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Move page?

[edit]

To achieve greater consistency, I suggest we move this page to 2006-07 in La Liga. This will be consistent with 2006-07 in English football and 2006-07 in Scottish football. Any comments about this would be welcomed. --Siva1979Talk to me 10:29, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As La Liga is just one league rather than covering the entirety of Spanish football, a more appropriate comparison would be Premier League 2006-07, which would suggest that this article should be at La Liga 2006-07. Hope this helps...... ChrisTheDude 11:00, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this article should be La Liga 2006-07. --Siva1979Talk to me 12:35, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
2006-07 in English football is an article about all English Football in that year ,also the Scottish football. Ruther than 2006-07 in La Liga it's only one competition. So for me I suggest that this article La Liga - 2006/2007 move to La Liga - 2006/07 (like what said by Mr.ChrisTheDude).
But if you mean 2006-07 in La Liga is 2006-07 in Spanish football, i suggest to but it in ((Category:)) like ((Category:2006-07 in Spanish football)) on all spanish competitions in this year. Saudi9999 11:42, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It should really be at La Liga 2006-07, to be consistent with the Premier League pages. Steveweiser 11:58, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So, what about 2006-07 in Spanish football? This also includes ALL the Spanish seasons as well. Therefore, I have to move these pages as well for greater consisiancy. If there is no objections to this, I will start moving these pages soon. Any comments about this would be welcomed! --Siva1979Talk to me 12:34, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am agree with ChrisTheDude and with the idea of making a new page without erasing La Liga - 2006-07, about 2006-07 in Spanish football that covers all the competition but without using too much information; only the final table and the pichichi (like in 2006-07 in English football) Ief 16:13, 25 July 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Hi, and thanks for the invitation to participate in the discussion Siva. I personally am of the opinion that 2006-07 in Spanish football is the best option at present and if the article grows to a very large size then the cup and league could have their own individual pages. As it stands the article La Liga 2006-07 is 27Kb long compared to 44Kb for the Premier League 2006-07. In the mean time you could redirect La Liga 2006-07 to 2006-07 in Spanish football.StephP 17:36, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I believe La Liga should have its on article for each season just like all others domestic leagues we can find here in Category:2006-07 domestic football (soccer) leagues. A 2006-07 in Spanish football article could talk about La Liga and have a link to the main article La Liga 2006-07.--ClaudioMB 18:37, 25 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
