Cultural appropriation/Criticism section

[edit]

I've removed the additions originating from this edit, from IP user @2405:201:E021:4B8C:D988:17B5:E0B3:760C, as I don't think it's relevant for an article on the Korean Wave. These are individual controversies of individual K-pop groups or television programs and not something to do with the phenomenon itself. Bringing it up here in case anyone disagrees, and because I think these are important pieces of information to have on Wikipedia, just not this article. I previously rephrased the section, but it really needs to be moved to a more appropriate Wikipedia page. :3 F4U (they/it) 13:41, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"Hallyu" capitalized?

[edit]

As title. My guess is yes, given that we title case "Korean Wave"? toobigtokale (talk) 00:30, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also is it italicized as per MOS:FOREIGNITALIC? Not sure toobigtokale (talk) 00:32, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Manhwa

[edit]

Hi, I plan to add more information to the Manhwa section. I will explain a bit about the history of Manhwa, the difference between webtoons and Manhwa and then maybe explain why Manhwa has just now become more popular outside of South Korea unlike the other elements of the Korean wave. Here are some sources that I found that I am thinking of using:

I have noticed that the hallyu/korean wave is only credited to BTS, but BLACKPINK, a mega group has not been mentioned alongside their name. BLACKPINK has immensely contributed to the Korean economy, and I suggest you do give credit where it is due. They have over 6 videos surpassing 1 billion views on youtube and has racked 14B streams on spotify. Please consider my request. Kiliniliba12 (talk) 03:34, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
