Move discussion in progress
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:16bit (band) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 16:32, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
Genres
[edit]Well, I added several sources for jazz-funk, which User:Loyalmoonie keeps deleting for some unknown reason. But do we have any source for Indietronica? Their own description is "futuresonic funk-pop". Stereotypical thinking doesn't do them justice. --Sitacuisses (talk) 00:19, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
Did you even READ the sources you've added (which all three fail WP:Reliable because the sources are not widely reported)? They don't say they are a jazz-funk band; they're influenced by the genre...and if you, sir, are acting on behalf of Boaxy/Phrasia (who I have confirmed to be evading his block once again to take ownership of this, and other articles) to keep those poorly-sourced genres on without explaining how they qualify, then you, too, are falling in violation of WP:SOCK and/or WP:MEAT. If you're not editing for him, then excuse me for enforcing an indefinite block on a user (who was permablocked for repeatedly adding poorly-sourced genres/categories to certain articles, and making personal attacks against me and other users when he doesn't get his way), which remains in effect as of this date. Good day. --Loyalmoonie (talk) 04:40, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
- and I'm sorry if I sounded rude/hostile in that reply (which was not my intention), but rules are rules.
- Please stop shouting at me, and keep any insubstantial suspicion to yourself. Read WP:AGF and WP:AOHA. Apart from the blocked user, I'm not the only person who has tried to expand the article. You also reverted the edits by User:E-Kartoffel, who has been an active Wikipedia contributor since 2006. Actually, you are the one who has taken ownership of this article, and you're blocking the further development. Knower's music has evolved, and the article needs to reflect this. Did you even read my previous post? If you find any source about their genres that meets WP:Reliable, please come forward with it. (Allmusic's "Pop/Rock" seems too general.) The North Sea Jazz festival have "FUNK - JAZZ FUSION" as subheading. If you're looking for a genre that they are, it possibly doesn't exist, since they stretch the boundaries between genres. So it's reasonable to name the most influential genres instead, if we don't resort to their own description "futuresonic funk-pop". --Sitacuisses (talk) 05:40, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
Forgive my hostility, then. I was wrong to think that you (or someone else you mentioned) were a user that was evading a permablock. I'll let you carry on, but please note that I was only enforcing what needed to be enforced. Yet, even I am prone to making mistakes (like I just did here) in enforcing rules and blocks.--Loyalmoonie (talk) 06:04, 29 July 2018 (UTC)
I think it's fair to say that nowadays they've definitely steered away from Indietronica and electronic music in general, and heavily into Jazz and Fusion, especially with their live shows. 85.216.149.248 (talk) 14:25, 8 March 2020 (UTC)
