[edit]From my understanding, I thought that because of the strategic location of the Klatskin Tumor, it can cause obstruction and hence an earlier presentation by the patient with jaundice and thus these tmors can be resected with a much more reasonable (and better) prognosis compared to most cholangiocarcinomas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.50.72.156 (talk) 04:13, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
regarding the above comment, Robbins 8th ed pg 880 "Fifty to 60% of all [cholangiocarcinomas] are perihilar (Klatskin) tumors, 20% to 30% are distal tumors, and about 10% are intrahepatic. In any case the prognosis is dismal, with survival rates of about 15% at 2 years after diagnosis." harry 68.16.29.253 (talk) 22:46, 28 December 2012 (UTC)
