A note

[edit]

"Nearly all of Porter's rather risqué lyrics had to be "cleaned up" to avoid the wrath of the censors, thus dulling much of the comedy and making the results rather bland."

Yes, that's pretty much opinion. The Photoplayer 16:53, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Theatre" vs "Theater"

[edit]

I converted several British words to their American versions, partly because this is an American film, and partly because the rest of the article uses American spellings. But I'm undecided on whether to change "theatre" to "theater". The former is the primary British spelling and the latter is the primary American spelling, but both are used by some people in both countries.

Specifically, here in America, "theatre" is often used to refer to playhouses while "theater" is reserved for moviehouses even though the only official spelling in either case is "theater". Thus my question is: should I change them all to "theater" since that's the way Americans are "supposed" to spell it, or should I leave it as "theatre" because we usually use that to refer to playhouses which is the context here? --Kitsunegami (talk) 23:16, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
