Article title

[edit]

I moved this to Murder of Kirsty Bentley but @HTGS has moved it to Death of Kirsty Bentley as per WP:DEATHS. Cause of death as per the coroner was several blunt force trauma to the back of the head. Shouldn't this at least be Killing of Kirsty Bentley? Darrelljon (talk) 04:29, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Several of the references also refer to it as murder in their titles. Darrelljon (talk) 04:40, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Killing would also be fine, and probably more in line with DEATHS. I think the consensus has generally been to avoid “murder” without a trial, because it is technically a crime with requisite legal status. Personally I prefer “death” just because in cases like this it more accurately reflects the scope of the situation; that is, we care about the circumstances of her death and disappearance, which includes the act of the killing itself.
If you want to move it to Killing of Kirsty Bentley I will be happy enough, as the best thing of this was to move it from being about her as a person. I don’t have a major issue with “Murder” personally—given the circumstances as you point out—but I think we should have an WP:RM if that’s what you prefer. — HTGS (talk) 20:47, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
