Dokdo
[edit]Miss Kim has supported ROK's claim to Dokdo going back at least to 2005 (http://www.hancinema.net/kim-tae-hee-lee-wan-launch-dokdo-campaign-in-switzerland-2690.html), which caused a stir in Japan, where she was an endorsement model for Rohto’s cosmetic brand, (Yukigokochi.http://www.ohkpop.com/85723/japanese-man-to-be-jailed-for-protesting-against-company-which-uses-kim-tae-hee-as-endorsement-model, http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2012/08/27/2012082701139.html, http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2012/05/11/2012051101058.html) but lost the role because of her Dokdo position (http://www.whatsontianjin.com/news-2600-japan-s-rohto-pharmaceutical-cancels-kim-tae-hee-ads-over-dokdo-comments.html). The animosity of some Japanese has been aggravated by her being chosen for a major role in a Japanese television series ("99 Days with the Star", http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2011/10/18/2011101801268.html). 202.179.19.15 (talk) 12:04, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
- This sourcing for this claim is quite problematic actually. The IP user's list illustrates well what I mean.
- There is only one source above dating to 2005 (a retweet of KBS entertainment news [1]) and it only forecasts the actress plans to wear "T-shirts (in) Switzerland". The rest is 2011 or 2012 Korean mainstream news that assumes she "did it" back in 2005.
- There is apparently zero contemporary WP:RS newspaper etc. sources from 2005 reporting she actually did this T-shirt wearing or handing thing in Switzerland. Apparently to fill that vacuum, you have to resort to tabloid quality media.
- This is demonstrated by the Japanese Wikipedia article ja:キム・テヒ (current edit). From 2005 it can only cite lesser quality net-news outlets like MYDAILY 3 times, STARNEWS site, (passing it off as piece from the financial newspaper MONEY TODAY ) by its parent company), and J-CAST . --Kiyoweap (talk) 20:11, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
