Flag
[edit]The flag shown in the infobox is Image:Philippines_flag_original.png. The Flag of the Philippines article says that this flag was conceived by Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. I am no expert on Philippine history, but my understanding is that Aguinaldo had nothing to do with the Katagalugan Republic or with the flag of that republic. I see that this page shows a different flag as the flag of the Katagalugan Republic. What's up? -- Boracay Bill 02:22, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Move the page (again), to Tagalog Republic this time
[edit]I recently moved this article from Katagalugan to its current name as Republic of Biak-na-Bato, with reasoning based on Wikipedia:Naming_conventions#Use_English_words. That resulted in an anonymous suggestion on my talk page that it be moved to Tagalog Republic. Tagalog Republic appears to be a more common English name for what is discussed in this article. That article already exists so an WP:Administrator needs to do the move, but I've not placed, {{Move}} template at the top of this page to request that. IMHO, some time needs to elapse before the move so that possible objections or alternative suggestions can emerge.
This article discusses both the "Tagalog Republic" established by the Katipunan and the one established by Macario Sacay (something I failed to pick up on before doing the earlier move), so "Tagalog Republic" appears to be a better name for the page than "Republic of Biak-na-Bato".
Does anyone have an objection to the move, or a better suggestion? If not I (or someone else, please, if I overlook it) will place the {{Move|Talog Republic}}
at the top of this talk page to request the move. Alternatively, and absent objections after a few days, an interested administrator reading this could just go ahead and move the page. -- Boracay Bill (talk) 08:14, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- I do think it's better to move the page to "Tagalog Republic", so I support the move. Mk32 (talk) 20:32, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
- It's been a few days already, with no objections. I will request for the move to "Tagalog Republic". Mk32 (talk) 02:12, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
