schools: Norkam
[edit]Hi i was just wondering as a former student of norkam secondary if there would be any point to me adding a section to the article about it under the schools heading?
→the kamloops blazers attended norkam until last year when they switched to Brock- perhaps it could be relevant that several NHL starts went to norkam.
Cree-Saulteaux c. 1590??
[edit]- "Prior to the arrival of European settlers, the Cree-Saulteaux band led by Chief Yawassannay had migrated to this region in the early 15th century where they met the local Secwepemc (Shuswap) nation (part of the Interior Salish language group). The Yawassanay band's Kamloops settlement was the largest of their three tribal areas. "
This is gonna need a citation, I've never heard it before and know BC history and FN history very well; and it's not part of any the T'kumlups Secwepemc story that I ever heard, though I'll send t his to the Kamloops band and see if they've ever heard any such thing; the Cree-Saulteaux organization is in, I think, Prince George.
Stuff like this getting slipped in to articles is what happens when you block the most active/prolific British Columbian wikipedian on behalf of a non-British Columbian who didn't want to be "interfered with" while writing his own OR/ESSAY opus by anyone who actually knew enough to call bullshit on what he was contriving....not signing in, or I wouldn't be able to make this comment thanks to the American for-pay WMF admin who blocked me on behalf of another American admin who had an ethnic politics axe to grind........sheesh.
Humidex
[edit]I believe the claimed humidex record of 47.4C is corrupt. It is based on a dewpoint measurement of 28.3C, far out of range of any other reading Im aware of in western Canada. —Soap— 02:00, 16 September 2020
How to incorporate the recent finding of a mass grave (2021)
[edit]I'm not seeing a place in the structure that makes this straightforward. Someone dropped a See Also, and I unbroke that link. Added: there's a paragraph in Education, but that doesn't really make sense. Probably belongs to a recent history section? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Linlithgow (talk • contribs) 12:31, May 31, 2021 (UTC)
