Criminality stats - NPOV?

[edit]

In light of the lack of inline refs, the statement,

"There is a widespread prejudice in Finland that Roma are more commonly engaged in criminal behavior than ethnic Finns. Recent studies indicate that there is some truth to this."

strikes me as possible WP:SYNTH. Furthermore, regarding the statistics themselves, namely, that proportionally more Kale are incarcerated does not necessarily mean that they are more criminal than ethnic Finns simply because they are Romanis; like the over-representation of African-American men in US prisons, this can have something to do with non-cultural factors such as socio-economic exclusion. And maybe the Finnish cops simply like to round up Kale as the "usual suspects"? The article text as it stands says "in 2005, members of the Roma culture perpetrated a staggering 18% of solved street robbery crimes in Finland..." (emphasis mine). Kale are easy to spot, aren't they? But an ethnic Finnish suspect just melts into the crowd. Better arrest the Kale anyway, since "everyone knows" they're probably guilty of something, right? — Zalktis (talk) 09:49, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

These statements have appeared in various unsourced forms for months now. If no-one adds proper citations in the next couple of days, I'm going to remove them forthwith. Finnish speakers, the ball is in your court! —Zalktis (talk) 15:30, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with this assessment. Contentious and apparent POV edits should be referenced to reliable sources or removed. RashersTierney (talk) 15:39, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Unsourced statements with POV formulations (e.g. "staggering") and apparently WP:SYNTH percentages (e.g. 11000%) have been removed. Maybe now the POV tag can go, too? —Zalktis (talk) 11:22, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Go for it! RashersTierney (talk) 12:24, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Religion

[edit]

Even if Lutheranism is the most popular religion within Finnish Kale, Pentecostalism, Baptism and other smaller movements are more common within them than within the majority population. Finnish is clearly the most common language and mother tongue of all Romani, the Romani language is reserved.--SM (talk) 23:28, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Romanichal/ See Also

[edit]

I added the Romanichal group to the 'See Also' section as the two groups are genetically and historically related. I forgot to add that to the edit line, I apologise. [[Xamurrochokas (talk) 13:21, 14 November 2012 (UTC)]][reply]

Rubbish in the article

[edit]

That Finnish people do only 51% of the crimes is not true but a fact is that a very rasistical populist party got the second most votes in the elections to the European Union. It's unfortunate that nonsense is made up only because of prejudice. I ask someone who knows the interface to delete the chapter that refers to source 10 because the link doesn't exist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.113.6.252 (talk) 13:49, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
