Jusepe Leonardo → José Leonardo – Correct his given name per the sources. Apparently an editor confused him with a contemporary of his, named Jusepe Martínez. Relisted. BDD (talk) 23:32, 2 May 2013 (UTC) Daniel the Monk (talk) 17:25, 25 April 2013 (UTC)

- On the face of it oppose He seems to be called Jusepe more often than José Leonardo. (I don't understand why you think any confusion with Jusepe Martínez has occured) In ictu oculi (talk) 18:11, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
- Support Of the four cited references, two use José, one uses Jusepe, and one uses both. Google hits favor José (compare "jusepe leonardo" baroque painter -wikipedia -José and "José leonardo" baroque painter -wikipedia -jusepe), and that's also the form used in the VIAF record. José seems more common in general when only one name is used. I agree with IIO, however, that I don't see evidence of confusion with Martínez. --BDD (talk) 23:37, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
- Support: Jose is the Spanish name - Jusepe a version of his Jewish name. In 17th century Spain, it is likely that he like many other Jews chnaged his name to Jose, which is how he is commonly know today. I have added some more refs.
