Comments
[edit]Martino resigned in early June, around June 12 according to the news conference.
So the actual resignation was in June, it wasn't accepted until August 31. The page should reflect that. This is important, because Martino had to wait a while to announce his resignation and his actions in his last months of office had to be shaped by this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeffutz (talk • contribs) 19:36, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

I edited the paragraph which referenced Bishop Martino's attempts to censor, or at least prevent Catholics from participating in, a production of the Vagina Monologues.
While the article correctly identified the play as one which raises money for abused women, by leaving it at that and not explaining the subject matter of the play, and specifically the scene which I referenced, (but did not quote the title of, as some might find it offensive,) and therefore the context of the bishop's objections, it implied that he had arbitrarily opposed fund-raising efforts for abused women. 4.158.0.215 (talk) 22:39, 8 September 2009 (UTC) |
