Questions Regarding A Source: Lamothe-Langon
[edit]I don't yet have a strong opinion on whether Lamothe-Langon materials are real or invented. In general, it seems easier to copy than to create. I would like to understand his motive for inventing additional material with his history already running to 3 volumes. Graphomaniac? Maybe. I tend to trust Hansen as a guide thru the medieval and appreciate his consistent attempts to provide original source materials. Translating Hansen into English with added footnotes to discuss various sources would seem to have been a good contribution to the scholarship of this field in the 1970s.
