Page moves

let's give the guy his due - he wasn't only a "quack", but a pioneer, soldier, judge, postmaster, politician, surveyor, tax collector, bootmaker etc. - probably best summed up in the word "pioneer". @Gatoclass:

Sure, that’s a reasonable move; on the edges of more established places, most men and women have to do a little of this and of that just to get by. Almost as true today in rural parts, still. But the fellow wasn’t a trained physician, and he followed a school of thought whose only positive point was that the ~~victims~~ patients were being poisoned by certifiably organic means. Describing him as such, and linked to the main page, no less, is BS, although a welcome change from the usual agenda-driven BS.

Poisoning the well, how so? Other than that, I don't actually think your move was unreasonable, given that the page was originally at "John Steele (physician)" - "quack" would be a better description of his medical activities - just that I think it was shortchanging the guy to summarize him only as a "quack" when he made contributions in so many other fields. Well, perhaps my recent experiences elsewhere (available for your viewing pleasure at WP:ANI!) have left me a little jaundiced, but plunking one’s own prefered edit down with a plea not to edit-war it strikes me as exactly that, implicitly poisoning the well.
