Comptroller of the Currency?

[edit]

It doesn't say anywhere in the article that this guy was comptroller of the currency, only the treasury. Yet it has a succession box thing at the bottom for comptroller of the currency. Could someone clarify this, I'm confused. Is it a mistake? Aaarggh! Spongefrog (talk) 19:52, 6 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've rewritten and it should be clear now. Hey, it only took 8 years!!! Best, —tim /// Carrite (talk) 07:45, 17 August 2017 (UTC) Ping: Spongefrog[reply]

Why the "Jr"?

[edit]

Usually "Jr." is appended when the son has the same name as the father. In this case, the father is James J. Knox and the son is John Jay Knox. I don't think there should be a "Jr." here. Library of Congress does not list him with the "Jr." (see https://lccn.loc.gov/n88649301 ).

Corrected father's name based on their two headstones here https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/51672016/john-jay-knox and here https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/33865761/john-jay-knox Bookgrrl holler/lookee here 17:14, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
