Eisenhower's military unit

[edit]

I changed Eisenhower's military unit from the Fifteenth U.S. Army to the U.S. Army Reserve because it was in the Reserve that he attained his highest rank, which is the rank listed in infobox. Steve Casburn 03:39, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eisenhower's wife's father

[edit]

I will not change it, but let an editor do so if the error of the military position attributed to my dad's good friend Col. Percy W. Thompson appears as much fake or erroneous claim as it should to anyone. This is a position sounding like that held by Gen. Black Jack Pershing [1] with American not Allied, but if extended to SHAEF would be the position of John Eisenhower's father during WW II, not his father-in-law. Please change if it meets Wiki-approval. Chief.Scribe (talk) 02:28, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Eisenhower's greatest achievements have come as a military historian"

[edit]

Says who? HedgeFundBob (talk) 00:34, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because he has no other great achievements!Barnaby the Scrivener (talk) 12:47, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think the point being raised here is that Eisenhower is going to be remembered for anything it's going to be for his writing rather than his service as a soldier or diplomat. Rklawton (talk) 19:14, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

External link?

[edit]

Would an interview with transcript with John Eisenhower from 1986 be useful here as an external link? Focus of conversation is nuclear weapons policy. http://openvault.wgbh.org/catalog/V_F728908275D64362B43BDC732066F342 (I have a conflict of interest; otherwise I would add it myself.)
