Copyvio
[edit]Most of the latter half of this page has been copied directly from various pages on the SEAS website: [1], etc. Akriasas 17:52, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Accuracy? Maybe do some researching for the article rather than merely complaining about the writer(s). How is it today?MaynardClark (talk) 16:59, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
Establishment Date
[edit]Is it really correct to say the school was founded in 1847 when the Lawrence institute was dissolved in 1906? A more recent date would seem to be more accurate; the 1847 claim seem s to be revisionist history.--76.237.186.14 02:19, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
more than revisionist, although Harvard claims same on their web site. I wonder if the Medical School should claim 5000 BC as God removes Adam's rib ? Fact is SEAS was established in 2006. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.179.165.224 (talk) 13:01, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
- The article READS (clearly) as a chronicle of the Universities 'structure to support faculty and research in engineering applied sciences':
- "The structure to support faculty and research in engineering applied sciences underwent several reorganizations (ranging from a school, department (several), and division)..."
Propaganda?
[edit]Lots of weasel words here, and vague predictions for the future which don't have a place in a wikipedia article; I'm going to remove the non-factual parts if everyone agrees, which will mean cutting the article down quite a lot. There was also at least one broken link. QMarion II (talk) 15:21, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Renaming
[edit]This article needs to be rewritten to recognize the $400 million gift to SEAS by John Alfred Paulson and the renaming of the school to the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (June 3, 2015). MaynardClark (talk) 16:26, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
Endowment total(s)
[edit]How could the endowment have risen ONLY $130 million AFTER a $400 million bequest from John Alfred Paulson?
|endowment = US$862 million[1]
|endowment = US$990.9 million[2]
I suggest that we date the US$990.9 million (e.g. 'as of 01/01/2015), although the University's website still shows that dated information, since the posted information clearly notes that it is considered accurate as of the first of this year (1/1/2015): "(as of 1/1/15)". MaynardClark (talk) 18:42, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
If this is like other gifts, it is not $400 million instantly, but over the course of 5-10 years. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jhabel (talk • contribs) 17:33, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
