He's a very well known musician in south louisiana. He recorded the first Cajun song on LP in 1928. His music has been copied ever since. I think this makes him well known. Besides, come to south Louisiana and mention his name. Everyone in Cajun music knows who he was. Be patient and the article will be populated soon.

As far as references, I placed 2 ref's in the article. What more do you want.?

I concur. There are many active Cajun music groups in Louisiana today (witness the recent New York Times article about the Pine Leaf Boys) and many more throughout the U.S. and in such foreign countries as Canada, the U.K., France, the Netherlands, and Australia. There are also national and international networks of Cajun musicians and dancers online. Surely Joe Falcon, a recognized pioneer in this field (whose photo appears on the cover of Ann Allen Savoy's 422-page book "Cajun Music: A Reflection of a People") merits inclusion in Wikipedia.

I think we can remove the references tag now. Any objections? WF —Preceding unsigned comment added by Falcanary (talkcontribs)

Harry Smith Entries

[edit]

The list of compilation recordings on which Mr. Falcon's work can be heard should certainly mention the Harry Smith Anthology of American Folk Music, which includes selection #38, 'Arcadian [sic] One Step' (Falcon solo), #68, "Le Vieux Soulard et Sa Femme" ("The Old Drunkard and his Wife"), and #77, "C'est Si Triste Sans Lui" ("It's So Blue Without Him"), the latter two with Cleoma. 76.199.4.187 (talk) 20:52, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
