I'm afraid I need to give the article a straight fail at this stage. The language is appropriate and citations for content are adequate, however the article simply does not cover enough aspects of the subject to qualify as a "comprehensive" article. Information in the following areas are needed:

  • Construction process, not just dates of commencement and completion
  • Transport connections
  • Service pattern, not just journey time to particular landmarks although those are useful
  • Station layout. This may be better presented in tabular or graphical form.
  • Street map of the station, and possibly a floor plan as well
  • Pictures of the station

I think the same criticism would apply to East Huaxia Road (Shanghai Metro), another article you have submitted to GA nominations, and therefore that article is unlikely to pass either. Westminster tube station, a GA about a train station in London, may be a good example to follow when expanding this article. --Deryck C. 21:56, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I thank you for your review, and understand your criticism. Perhaps you have misinterpreted the GA criteria as well as some regional differences. The last three bullets are not part of the GA criteria per this. The first bullet is completely fair; I will research that sometime in the near future. I have no idea what you mean by transport connections. If it be to bus transport, I am not quite sure that it exists and am unable to cite that properly. As for the third bullet, I cannot find any source. There are never services in Shanghai Metro stations. I am neither trying to repeal the review, nor do I intend to send this to WP:GAR. I just request clarification as to how this article can be improved. — PCB 22:06, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for not being clear enough! I wrote the above criticism assuming that as a major author of the article you must be a rail expert of some sort. I hope the following help:
  • Transport connections: Indeed this refers to what other transport you can take from the station. If there are none, don't worry.
  • Service pattern: Essentially a summary of the timetable.
  • Points 5 and 6 (relevant images) are not part of the GA criteria only when such images are not available, which I don't agree is the case for any public location such as train stations in operation. A map can be cropped from OpenStreetMap or using {{location map+}}. Pictures should be available either from Commons or Flickr, or alternatively it should be possible to find Wikimedians from Shanghai are who are willing to take a picture of the station.
All in all, I think this is a case where GA criterion #2 is in conflict with #3, ie. there seems to be inadequate reliable third-party source to produce an article that's comprehensive in content, and I'd rather let #3 (comprehensive) "win" and fail this article, than to give it the benefit of doubt under #2. --Deryck C. 22:43, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I actually happen to have fixed some of the things you've suggested, but how could I fix number 4? — PCB 22:50, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Having read a few more train station GAs, I agree with you that point 4 (station layout) isn't necessary for a GA. What I meant was a more detailed description of the platform structure (island platform? side platform?), what else is at platform level, possibly a bit about escalators and staircases, and what's where in the rest of the station etc. --Deryck C. 23:10, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
