POV

[edit]

The page seems a little negative of NPOV to me. Is that just me, or should we build a more factual, less subjective, entry?—Preceding unsigned comment added by JakartaDean (talkcontribs)

Has he really "thrived at Spurs"?

It's not POV Bababoum 16:05, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like POV to me, maybe someone should consider reviewing the whole tone of the article. It appears rather un-encyclopedic and more like something you'd read in a football magazine. TN2006 21:43, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I agree with you, it is very POV. I certainly don't think many would say he has 'thrived at Spurs' for example. Bababoum 09:20, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Eh?

[edit]

"Contrary to most commentators' beliefs, Jermaine's surname is correctly pronounced with the 'e' like the sound for a lower case 'e', and not a capital 'E'." - even as a native English speaker I can't understand how a lower case 'e' and a capital 'E' are meant to be pronounced differently - can someone enlighten me.....? ChrisTheDude 00:29, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What? Why on earth has this been added to trivia? There was a whole "thing" about the way his name should be pronounced around 2002-3 when he started to get famous in the footballing world. People instictively would call him "Jenas" (prounounced like "jennifer") .... but JJ then went on record several times (in interviews and in magazines) stating that the correct pronounciation is "Jeenas". Because the family name used to be spelled G-E-N-A-S and was changed by Jermaine's father, but the pronounciation remained. Plus commentators in England seek out by asking the players themselves the proper way to pronounce surnames.
So I will delete that line of trivia because it indicates the absolute opposite from the truth, weird. someuser 03:24, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
have you got a source for that? 84.67.171.109 00:19, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Class upgrade

[edit]

I think this is good enough to be upgraded to C or B. Everyone agree? Govvy (talk) 12:55, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Soccerbase has incorrect league stats.

[edit]

Can editors please be aware that soccerbase has incorrect league stats for Jenas. Please check http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/players/first_team/jermainejenas.html for the proper count. Or http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=5159&cc=5739 for second confirmation. Govvy (talk) 18:42, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up, I was only trying to fix the table formatting which had been corrupted and wondered why the numbers would not add up:)Tmol42 (talk) 11:12, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Jenas at villa.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Jenas at villa.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

2008 to 2011 there seems to be a big gap.

[edit]

As the header says, a big gap, if you read the article, he is at Spurs, signs an extention on his contract in July 2008 keeping him at the club till 2013, becomes Vice-Captain, plays in 100 game on boxing Day 2008.

He scores a goal against WBA, we don't know when know! As no source is provided! Bit strange the way it's like that. Then suddenly there is nothing more till his loan to Villa in 2011!

So there is nothing written for 2009-2010 season. I am assuming he was out injured for a long time. This part of the article really needs to be addressed. Govvy (talk) 11:12, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wife?

[edit]

Although the article says,

"Jenas and his wife Ellie have two daughters together"

it does not mention anywhere else the event of getting married, nor to whom, nor when. These pieces of information are normal in Wikipedia biographical articles. Also, there is no mention of wife or children in the summary box, where such information is also normal.

Finally, the part quoted above is incorrectly punctuated, omitting two commas. The correctly punctuated version would read,

"Jenas and his wife, Ellie, have two daughters together" 86.167.21.187 (talk) 07:15, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
