Gauche Communiste de France was not a Trotskyist group

[edit]

The group refered to here was a left communist group, more or less alligned with tendencies of the Italian Left, or Italian Communist Left, associated with Amadeo Bordiga. It was not a Trotskyist group.

A little more information on this can be found in the wikipedia entry on Marc Chirik:

[edit]

There are two interesting, important texts on Malaquais on libcom.org, also a short interview with him.--Ralfdetlef (talk) 05:34, 4 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jean Malaquais and Varian Fry

[edit]

"In 1943, he succeeded in leaving France with the assistance of Varian Fry and the Emergency Rescue Committee".

This is not correct; see

"Fry was forced to leave France in September 1941 after officials of both the Vichy government and of the United States State Department had become angered by his covert activities. He then spent more than a month in Lisbon before returning to the United States in October."
