[edit]Needs more sources. Artist has had several chart singles and major label albums, so he clearly meets music notability. The initial version read like a copyvio.
Along with other major Tejano and Latin musicians, he has been a major contributor within the Tejano Music Community. He was one of the major performers on Selena ¡VIVE! an event held as a tribute to Selena which which lasted over three hours, scored a 35.9 Nielsen household rating. Has been the winner of 6 consecutive Tejano Music Awards Male Vocalist of the Year from 2003-2008 along with being the Male vocalist of the year in 2000. Along with the vocalist awards, his band has received "Showband of the Year" awards and he has received "Entertainer of the Year" in other years yet listed on the Jay Perez wiki page. I will not listing anything until I cite the sources with the change. I couldn't figure how to cite the sources correctly. Now that there is an example on the page. I will do it properly. I did add a reference source regarding Tejano Music Awards. As for expansion of hits, I haven't located a list of the charted hits. CC (talk) 03:03, 14 September 2008 (UTC)ccscastle
I've added another album. I've added which album won an award. I haven't listed his entertainer of the year awards nor showband of the year awards because I'm looking for a more consistent look as compared to other music artists on wikipedia. CC (talk) 05:03, 14 September 2008 (UTC)ccscastle
