Copyright concerns
[edit]I have removed the text from the sections about his career, as they are verbatim or substantially verbatim from his biography at SwimSwam: https://swimswam.com/bio/jay-litherland/ . Kablammo (talk) 19:18, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
This athlete deserves a more comprehensive article, but it must be in our own words, and not the words of others. Guidance to avoiding plagiarism can be found at Wikipedia:Plagiarism and WP:Wikipedia_Signpost/2009-04-13/Dispatches. Kablammo (talk) 21:09, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
POV blanking?
[edit]I'm trying to understand why 91.193.178.46 removed the "Early life" section I had added on 26 July 2021 seen here. The edit says the information violated WP:NPOV and wasn't cited by reputable sources -- but I'm not seeing the signs of POV and the citations are New Zealand's largest newspaper and one of the preeminent publications in the swimming world. I genuinely want to learn what I did wrong here, so can someone help me understand? I just can't figure out why giving info on his family and his background would be seen as not neutral enough. Looking back, the only glaring issue I see is a wording problem in the last sentence of the first paragraph of that section (shouldn't have the "becoming"). I sincerely appreciate any feedback. Thanks! 68.9.130.87 (talk) 17:48, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

- There is no minimum number of reliable sources required, only that the source(s) cited is/are reliable. And that requirement is met by your sources. Kablammo (talk) 18:30, 17 August 2021 (UTC)
