1954 Commonwealth Games
[edit]I can't believe that an article about Jim Peters doesn't mention his famous but tragic last race at the Commonwealth Games (1954?) where he suffered terrible dehydration, and collapsed near the finishing line. This is used a warning/training message for aspiring Marathon runners. I am not a Wikipedia expert, so could someone please add this for me. Thanks I think there should be mention here of his world best of 2.17.39, which he achieved at the Poly Marathon in London in 1954 before the Commonwealth Games. It was a record which stood for more than four years and meant that over a period of two years Peters had improved the world best by eight minutes, more than anyone else before or since. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.40.5.53 (talk) 20:01, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
