James Patrick Mary Duhig
[edit]Google doesn't confirm it, but I seem to recall being bemused as a young person when told my esteemed archbishop's name was "James Patrick Mary Duhig". Does this ring anyone's bell? -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 22:17, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- @JackofOz: A somewhat belated reply. Given that Patrick and Mary are popular Catholic saint names, I suspect this is an example of saint's names, a common Roman Catholic practice at that time. He may have adopted one name on being consecrated and the other on being ordained (or at other significant religious ceremonies his life). Generally these saints name don't turn up in official BDM records (his death is registered in Qld as simply James Duhig) but may turn up in church records. I didn't turn up any use of them in newspaper reporting. Kerry (talk) 23:20, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
