Poorly written sentences

[edit]

Does this sentence in the article make any sense to anyone? "The Fray signed with the secular Sony BMG, although Slade still practices the Christian faith.[3]". It's essentially implying that because you sign with Sony Records, you have to stop practicing your faith? Come on, that's utter bullshit. They signed with Sony rather than a religious-based record label so they could have access to a wider distribution market and sell more records. It's not like Sony forces bands to remove any religious lyrics from their music.

And the final sentence says he is married to a woman from Bellvue. Bellvue what? Washington? Colorado? Was this article written by someone with a 4th grade education? —Preceding unsigned comment added by LukeAtmiaz (talkcontribs) 21:42, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

--This may be old but I think Bellevue (not Bellvue) is a city in northern Colorado. Also, I do not think saying "The Fray signed with the secular Sony BMG, although Slade still practices the Christian faith." means BMG expects people to not practice Christianity. I think it was more of an added statement. Although he is busy signing to Sony, he manages to find the time to practice Christianity, though I think I read on the Fray's myspace or website www.thefray.net that they deny Christian influence and that they are not a Christian band. This topic is old though. This may not even be relevent now. Good day. -Levi (talk) 09:20, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Isaac Slade

[edit]

I did not know that the little boy in their music video was his younger brother. I thought he looked like Isaac. I also didn't know he had gotten married.

==> Yep, Slade's youngest brother is Micah. Slade also has a middle brother Caleb.

I deleted the statement: "and although they recently went through a rough time decided to remain married" from the article. If this statement was accompanied with a cited reference then it would be acceptable, however, it sounds more in line with a rumor. Also, married people everywhere go through rough times and decide to remain married; this is not altogether informative. I know Isaac very well and have not heard this, therefore I don't believe it is correct. Also, the age of Isaac's younger brother remains irrelevent to this article and was also deleted. Does anyone else think he's hot?4.178.183.33 05:18, 26 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, I think he's hot. But mostly in the How To Save A Life version 2 video!

Comments

[edit]

Please remember that this is a talk page - meaning a few things

  1. All comments should relate to the article itself, not the subject of the article - anything relating to just the subject (i.e. information that was put up with no intention of improving the article - 'He's a great musician, Slade rules,' etc.) will be deleted
  2. All comments should be signed with ~~~~ - even if you don't have an account. It gives you a signature, and if you don't have an account it will be an IP address. From now on there will be no way to avoid this - I plan on monitoring the page - Wikipedia allows anyone to see who made what edit - thus I can just go to the history, see if you made the comment, and add your username/i.p.

The only reason I'm bringing this up is because

I didn't know that my post would be tooken so seriously. I was just complimenting the guy. I apologize for my comment not relating to isaac? besides, are you some kind of mod?

-Jeannette

In Wikipedia there is no mod - well, maybe admins, but not really ... it's up to the contributors to keep talk pages following the rules. And it wasn't your comment per say - it was the bundle of themDaniel()Folsom |\T/|\C/|\U/|(Can you help me with my signature?) 21:03, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

College

[edit]

Isaac Slade attended the University of Colorado at Denver, and was a graduate of the Music and Entertainment Industry Studies with a Bachelor of Music Degree. It is mentioned at http://cam.cudenver.edu/braggingrights.htm, on the University's website. I was thinking it could be worked into the first paragraph, in the sentence mentioning the Christian academy and how the Fray was formed. Also, here is the University of Colorado's homepage: http://www.cudenver.edu. You can get to the page mentioning the Fray by going to, "Schools & Colleges", then "College of Arts and Media", then "Department of Music & Entertainment Studies", then at the bottom click on "Bragging Rights". I don't know all the layouts and link how-to's though, I don't know much about html, would someone want to add this?-Levi (talk) 09:09, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

After 4 years your wish has been granted, I was in the same program as Isaac and saw that this section was incorrect as it stated he went to Colorado State.-Mike --71.93.82.202 (talk) 16:51, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure why someone keeps undoing the information that I changed, Isaac DID NOT attend Colorado State University he attended the University of Colorado at Denver, I've cited the reference, plus I was in the program with him, if you think he went to Colorado State please cite your reference rather than just deleting mine.-Mike --71.93.82.202 (talk) 06:44, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Married

[edit]

I thought he was married? There's no mention of this, surely it's easy to find out whether he's married or not. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070628124423AAU0QzQ MyPerfectPeice (talk) 17:04, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also just looking through her myspace and comments, the first one does mention them two getting engaged then them having been married, her status is also set to married ;-) MyPerfectPeice (talk) 17:12, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cool name...

[edit]

That's the manliest name I've seen aside from Lance Armstrong. Haha.... Well actually, I was wondering if anyone else thinks the quotes are too long. Anyone else for mentioning the quotes and paraphrasing them rather than typing them all out? 64.234.0.101 (talk) 02:13, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
