Prose Suggestions
[edit]- I made a number of edits on the first section, to avoid giving you a lot of tedious suggestions, feel free to review and revert them as desired.
- Would recommend you mention that this is AD in the first date you give in the lede, the first time you mention it in the body, and on all the dates in the infobox. Don't forget to put a {{nbsp}} between the date and the "AD".
- (r. 1081–1118– ) Is the second – a mistake?
- The {{reign}} was changed in the meantime, so that it requires different parameters. Fixed now. Constantine ✍ 20:37, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- a leading figure recomend switching to an influential figure.
- Hmmm, not sure. He was not merely "influential", but actually involved in government as a kind of deputy to Alexios, so the present formulation is more correct, IMO. Constantine ✍ 20:37, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- Isaac was born to the highest aristocracy recommend change to Isaac was born into an aristocratic family
- Well, there are different layers of aristocracy; here it needs to be emphasized that he was born to a family that was at the very top of the tier. Constantine ✍ 20:37, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- reinforced through ties of marriage recommend reinforced by marriage ties
- Hmmm, done, but prefer the "through" rather than "by". --Constantine ✍ 20:37, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- important role in domestic affairs in matters of public order and justice, being called to examine several cases of conspiracy or heretical teachings. Recommend you delete everything after affairs
- Why? These are the main areas where we have concrete reports of his activity. Constantine ✍ 20:37, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- Back in the capital, he quickly gained the favour of the new emperor, suggest adding a While to the front and removing Back.
- "While" is a bit odd there. I've rephrased slightly to "Once back in...", to give the time dimension. Constantine ✍ 20:37, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- Bogomil leader Basil the Physician. Could be wrong but I believe it's Bogomilist
- No, "Bogomil" is a noun/adjective, much like "Christian", "Byzantine", etc. I've seen "Bogomilist" used, but far less often. Constantine ✍ 20:37, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

- Hi Iazyges, thanks for taking the time to review, I'll start working on it later today. Cheers, Constantine ✍ 12:01, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- Finished going through your suggestions. Apart from the prose issues, and beyond GAR requirements, do you have any suggestions for further improvement? Any areas that are not easy to understand and might need more background material or details? Cheers, Constantine ✍ 20:37, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- The only room for improvement I can see is you may wish to give the name of the Chronicle in the "who according to one anonymous chronicle" part, if it is known. Passing now. Iazyges Consermonor Opus meum 22:26, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
- I'll see what i can find. Thanks again for your time and suggestions. Constantine ✍ 23:47, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
