1-13AR, 3HBCT, 1AD
[edit]1-13AR, 3HBCT, 1AD was also intermittently task organized to V CORPS, 101ST Airborne Division, and 3RD Infantry Division between the TORCH Party arrival on 17MAR2003, APS-05 draw and Preparation 01 - 22APR2003), to crossing into Iraq, through our FOLLOW-AND-ASSUME mission behind 2-69AR, 3HBCT, 3ID (Completed by 29APR2003). Note: 2-69AR was withdrawn from Kadhimiyah en route to redeployment and end of mission by 10MAY2003.
"1st Battalion, 13th Armor Regiment, known as Task Force Dakota ... was attached to the 3rd Infantry Division and controlled the Kadhimiya area of Baghdad immediately after the initial invasion of Iraq. TF Dakota participated in numerous operations aimed at subduing insurgents including Operation Bulldog Flytrap, Operation Bulldog Mammoth, and Operation Cancer Cure. "On 23 February 2003, 1-13 Armor received deployment orders to the CENTCOM area of responsibility in support of what would become Operation Iraqi Freedom. 1-13 Armor entered Iraq on 29 April 2003.
