The three ways of forming blood vessels

[edit]

Intussusception is the process whereby a new blood vessel is created by the splitting of an existing blood vessel in two. It is one of the three ways that blood vessels are known to be formed in the human body, the other two being angiogenesis and vasculogenesis.

uhhm, I'm just learning this stuff for an exam, aren't the 3 ways actually

  1. intussusception
  2. bridging
  3. sprouting

???

just not 100% sure, that's why I didn't change it in the article... but according to my knowledge, angiogenesis refers to the formation of new blood vessels, and vaculogenesis is the formation of blood vessels in embryonic state. --Schneedrache 19:22, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
