Intracoastal Waterway
[edit]Interstate 510 goes over the Intracoastal Waterway, not the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet. The map I have clearly shows the MRGO branching off the Intracoastal Waterway EAST of the Paris Road Bridge, not west of the bridge. The Intracoastal Waterway runs from the Inner Harbor Navigational Canal to Lake Borgne/Mississippi Sound. The MRGO branches off at the NASA Michoud Facility, which is east of I-510.
I changed the article to reflect that. - --Bdj95 17:33, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- The last 6 miles of the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet is concurrent with the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. These 6 miles are from the Industrial Canal to the split east of the Paris Road Bridge, at which point the Intracoastal Waterway goes to the northeast MRGO goes to the southeast. See page 3 of this United States Army Corps of Engineers report on the MRGO [1]. VerruckteDan 18:07, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
