Clean up operation needed

This article is a complete shambles. Please can I have license to remove all reference to Icel as a king and restore to factual sources about this legendary king? Paul Bedsontalk 18:04, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Paul, why do you keep linking to random words? Not even just in articles but even in talkpage contributions? It is silly.

Icel is a legendary king from 8th-century Anglo-Saxon royal genealogies. He does not need his own page but can and should be treated within the context of a discussion of these genealogies. Wikipedia:Mergism is the answer in these cases. --dab (𒁳) 11:00, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks dab, I appreciate your advice and will give that some thought. Again I agree entirely with your ideas and am trying to accommodate Mergism more lately. The genealogies need some correction and expansion first however, taking into account your point about "Woden-centricism", and my point on the talk page of Wihtlaeg about the standard practice or "mere formality" of discarding the legendary heads of the genealogies to provide better explanation and comparison. I am being a bit wary of making any changes to them myself lately after some heated debates recently. But would appreciate any advice. Thanks again for all your help.
