Mystery music game show as an unique television genre
[edit]I Can See Your Voice is invented and originated in South Korea by Lee Seon-young and it is produced by CJ ENM and Signal Entertainment Group.
The genre of this program is labelled as mystery music game show, which is unique to other television genres that combines mystery (i.e. Identity); survival (i.e. Survivor); music (i.e. The Voice, Idol, or X Factor); and game show (i.e. Hidden Singer) elements.
- Thanks for letting us know of the different season articles where examples of table formats, etc. are listed. Right now, we don't know exactly what the format of the American version will be (it could be drastically different), so this article may or may not be similar to the ones you listed. I appreciate your work on these articles, and perhaps this is just English-related stuff, but I would try not to refer to any article as "your article" or "allow [me] to edit" it or make "editing rules" everyone should follow (as you said in your edit summary), as no one owns Wikipedia articles. Thanks! I just created the article, it isn't mine—I don't own it. Heartfox (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
Article name request
[edit]Hey Heartfox, i've wanna request to change article name of this show on I Can See Your Voice (American TV series) to I Can See Your Voice (American game show) because, the genre mystery music game show (a television genre that combines mystery (i.e. Identity); survival (i.e. Survivor); music (i.e. The Voice, Idol, or X Factor); and game show (i.e. Hidden Singer) elements) is unique to this program and it is fitted as "television game show" rather than the "television series", because it is applied to drama, talent competitions, or animated ones. Makoy Canlas (talk) 14:11, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
- Done. Heartfox (talk) 19:18, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
Merger discussion
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result of this discussion was merge. Heartfox (talk) 13:51, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
Merge I Can See Your Voice (American season 1) to I Can See Your Voice (American TV series). In my opinion, the creation of a separate season article was totally unnecessary and details could have been easily added into this article. I've never seen a season article for a series with only one season. This makes for unnecessary mobility issues (and possible notability issues as well) and could be confusing for readers. It's much easier for readers (and editors) to have everything on one page. A separate season article could be created if and when there is a second season (as is customary for many network TV articles). The season article should be merged with this page and put under a header or something. Heartfox (talk) 02:45, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
Merge/redirect/delete: Per MOS:TVSPLIT. A season of the American version does not count towards a 'series total' of episodes- this would remain a separate series from the South Korean version or any other version, thus, this is just season 1 (Saying this per the List of I Can See Your Voice episodes link in the infobox on the American season 1 article). Definitely not notable enough to be split already- especially with 0 episodes having aired so far. This would be better if there were more seasons in the future (Who knows? This one season could be it- it could also go onto 4+ seasons like The Masked Singer did in just a few years...) Magitroopa (talk) 03:55, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- Also see other recent FOX shows such as Celebrity Watch Party and Lego Masters. The information for the episodes/season is easily included in the article as it currently is. Just because a series exists, does not automatically mean it gets an LoE or separate season articles right away. Magitroopa (talk) 04:03, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
@Heartfox and Magitroopa: Hello guys, i've interrupted your discussion. I've recently already created this separated first season article, as a preparation for the ICSYVUSA's premiere. And so i'd accepted these concerns about this, how about you watch these trailers on Facebook Watch and YouTube? Did you notice that both videos with a title labelled on it and then explain it. [1] [2] [3] So on this discussion, for me, i oppose merging this page. That's my official statement. Makoy Canlas (talk) 05:09, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- Merge per Magitroopa. Its way too soon for a season 1 article, especially when the show hasn't even begun airing yet. Rfl0216 (talk) 16:29, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
- Merge: I don't want this page to devolve into fancruft. ViperSnake151 Talk 04:02, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
@Heartfox, ViperSnake151, and Magitroopa: I'm back and good day guys. So listen, we have to talk calmly for this statement. We put our discussion on hold, for various conditions.
- If this game show would "renew for the second season", my recently created first season article is retained; or
- If this game show wouldn't "renew for the second season", you can now merge into main page with my own created first season article.
However for some reasons, if you've watched from the beginning until the end of this season, you make to decide in your statement to retain or merge into single article on my own created first season article.
For your information, my own "first season article" has a summary of "results" on mustery singers' elimination order and panelist lineup.
Our discussion is on hold for now. Note me that i'd oppose merging into single article according to my statement. Makoy Canlas (talk) 11:40, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
Encyclopedic value
[edit]This is not a competition series where results are somewhat encyclopedic (e.g., The Amazing Race, DWTS celebrity dances/scores, American Idol performances, etc.)... it's a game show and we don't usually list game show results (WWTBAM, Celebrity Family Feud articles, etc.) so I'm really not sure all of the results tables in I Can See Your Voice (American season 1) should really be listed (it seems like it's just random people who the contestants are guessing). As far as I'm concerned, we can create an episode table with a short description of the events of an episode (the guest artist, guest panelists, etc. like in Celebrity Watch Party) but a full-on table listing the names of random people which will end up looking like this?? I don't know how that would be relevant to a general audience... it feels kind of WP:INDISCRIMINATE... maybe keep on a fandom or something. Heartfox (talk) 16:03, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Episode results
[edit]Good evening. I've put these episode results here for the additional information such as mystery singers' elimination order and winner, also i added the contestant's name, but i've keep these secretly using <❕--- this ---> format. So please look forward to this sample format in the Philippine second season. Makoy Canlas (talk) 12:46, 23 September 2020 (UTC)
New Format?
[edit]So starting with episode 7, it looks like they tweaked the format? I'm not exactly sure how to word it on the page though. DarkFireYoshi 05:47, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
- Actually... even though it's episode 7 to air, it's really the old format- take a look at the production codes in the episode table and you'll see that the production code is actually 'VOI-101'- AKA, the first episode to be filmed. As noted in this article, they managed to film one episode (being this week's) prior to production shutdown. You can see Ken's tweet confirming it here, and this notice was featured at the end of the episode explaining it was the pilot episode with differences from the rest of the series. There's also an article here explaining it all. Magitroopa (talk) 06:20, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
Move the page back to I Can See Your Voice (American game show)
[edit]I don't understand why this page was moved back to "TV series" in August. Per WP:NCTV it is not a "series"—it's a game show which "is self-contained with little connection to other episodes, other than title, format, hosts, and other on-air personalities. These shows generally lack on-going narrative or story elements". I am pretty sure this should be moved back to I Can See Your Voice (American game show). Move discussion in progress
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:I Can See Your Voice (Belgian TV series) season 1 which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 01:59, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
