I think more 90s/00s korean/kpop songs and a lot of C-Pop/Cantopop/Chinese pop and old western pop songs in general/Eurobeat have this progression (probably without the seventh major etc) so please help me add.
I didn't include japanese songs as if I tried to investigate that there would be more than I possibly can handle.
Some are from these sources and some are found by myself.
I'm not good at figuring out chords by myself (never learnt music theory) so please correct.
Please help me add to the article. Thanks. Reepy1 (talk) 00:09, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- P.S. F G Em Am is equivalent to C D Bm Em etc. if that helps. Reepy1 (talk) 00:11, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- Forgot to add It's gonna be me by NSYNC
- And Pokemon G/S Violet/Olivine City theme
- Surf, also Pokemon Gold/Silver
- Sorairo days (Gurren Langann)
- the list goes on... Reepy1 (talk) 00:22, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- The reason I am doing this is because I am wondering why it is more common in East Asia/Japan than other places. Maybe this can be falsified through more research.
- Here are cantopop examples of the progression. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fx4oEyGVw8 Reepy1 (talk) 00:41, 6 July 2022 (UTC)

- Adding IU 금요일에 만나요
- https://www.reddit.com/r/musictheory/comments/rr691i/kpop_ius_song_with_the_ivviiiiiviiivi_progression/
- Way to research this is to search IV-V-iii-vi FGEmAm CDBmEm 4536 (251) etc with/without spaces/hyphens. Reepy1 (talk) 00:55, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- We don't talk anymore Charlie Puth (may be Am then Em), Maroon 5 Cold etc.
- I found them from chordgenome.com Reepy1 (talk) 01:06, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- it seems like with respect to South Korea, it may still be frequent in ballads and K-Drama soundtracks. Also BOL4 has some with that I think, so someone can check the indie music. Reepy1 (talk) 01:08, 6 July 2022 (UTC)

- https://dic.nicovideo.jp/a/iv%E2%96%B37%E2%86%92v7%E2%86%92iiim7%E2%86%92vim here is a nicovideo wiki article about it, and here's something Korean. https://m.blog.naver.com/1458music/222159639032 I might think that its usage in Kpop/Korea might not be as frequent as Japan, and this chord itself might be a variant of F G C Am, which is the 50s progression offset by 2. Anyway, Get Lucky by Daft Punk (arguably) uses a variant. Reepy1 (talk) 21:22, 7 July 2022 (UTC)

IU Lilac I am not sure if myself publishing all of this is appropriate as it may cause biases. Reepy1 (talk) 09:41, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
- I'd like to mention that IU Lilac is city pop song. Reepy1 (talk) 20:45, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
As in maybe I shouldn't edit the actual Wikipedia article until there is a consensus, or I ask other more experienced people. I will continue updating here if I find more. Anyway, if you are here, congratulations! Reepy1 (talk) 10:54, 6 July 2022 (UTC)

- Agree - per WP:COMMON Royal Road should be the article title, and the current title switched to the redirect. PianoDan (talk) 20:00, 12 April 2023 (UTC)
Capitalization
[edit]Does anyone know if "Royal Road" is typically capitalized? Because the article does this, but the page title keeps it lowercase. Sir Cumference (talk) 23:09, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
