Photographic chemical
[edit]What are applications of hydrochloric acid in science of photography? Newone (talk) 07:45, 24 April 2017 (UTC)
Production of hydrochloric acid
[edit]The order contains the claim that hydrochloric acid is used to manufacture TDI and MDI. These are actually sources of hydrochloric acid. The use claimed for hydrochloric acid in vinyl chloride is also not correct. Hydrogen chloride can be used to make EDC, but it is byproduct from EDC cracking to vinyl chloride. Hydrochloric acid would be a saleable byproduct.JSR (talk) 19:05, 7 May 2017 (UTC)

Chemical formula needs to be *stated* before it is *used* in the text
[edit]The chemical formula HCl for hydrochloric acid is not stated in the text anywhere before it is used — in third sentence of the Etymology section:
"Gaseous HCl was called marine acid air."
This is ridiculous. I hope someone knowledgeable about the subject will fix this deficit in the article. 2601:200:C000:1A0:291B:4FAF:4C47:67FE (talk) 15:46, 24 September 2021 (UTC)

FAR needed
[edit]Loads of uncited text, vast amounts of missing information available online/print, underdeveloped lede, short sections... compare with other chemistry FAs. Wretchskull (talk) 11:43, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
