• "Hurricane Babe was the second tropical cyclone and the first to impact the United States..." - You might want to change "the second tropical cyclone" to "the second named storm", because apparently there were four tropical depressions before Anita and Babe, see the 1977 AHS article.

Meteorological history

• "Hurricane Babe originated from a tropical wave that exited the western coast of Africa on August 23. Tracking westward, the wave eventually entered the Gulf of Mexico on September 2." - Hang on, I am about 100% sure the the tropical wave had either crossed the Caribbean Sea or the Atlantic before reaching the GOM. However, in its current state, it looks like it teleported from the west coast of Africa to the GOM.
  • Not necessarily, it says it eventually reached the GOM, rather than jumped there. Also, there is no indication from the source where it was during that time so I can't add the requested information. Cyclonebiskit (talk) 01:58, 1 March 2011 (UTC)
• "The newly formed system then interacted with an upper tropospheric cyclonic vortex situated near the Florida coastline." - Which Florida coastline? There is the east coast of Florida, the Gulf Coast, and the coast along the Straits of Florida.

• You might want to mention that Babe was active simultaneously with Typhoon Babe in the West Pacific.
