Gender

[edit]

Isn't Hu beyond gender? The article is translating as "He", and "Himself", shouldn't it be "is", "it" and "itself"? – cacahuate talk 19:29, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed in part, Hu is the sound of divine. It is not gender specific nor is it actually a noun for deity, it is the sound of divine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EloBel (talkcontribs) 01:30, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

:I disagree, because it's really a male article in Arabic, you can't change it when you translate it. About Allah's gender:

What's the meaning?

[edit]

"Hu" comes after "Lahu" which comes after "Lillah" which comes after "Allah". = Allah lillah lahu hu ?

Pure gibberish. Deleted. Xanipnip (talk) 12:20, 12 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Other meanings of "Hu"

[edit]

"Hu" is also the name of an Egyptian God. http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/hu.htm

"(...) But their action didn't destroy the belief in Hu, (...) because the Hebrews took the conception of Hu with them when they left Egypt,(...) they [followers of HU] regard Satan as a symbol of freedom from repression."

A wrong saying in the article

[edit]

There is a wrong saying in the article, the part saying: ".. in the Islamic credo La Ilaha Ila Allah Hu.." Actually there is no "Hu" there. It is just the vowel sound (u) of the last letter that is prolonged a little. In Arabic scripts, it is: لا إله إلا اللهُ. and not لا إله إلا الله هو. That one has never existed. You are right. This should be changed in the text Gwaka Lumpa (talk) 20:12, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
