Need to find non-Wisconsin sources. Alatari (talk) 02:47, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Having trouble sourcing the "Other online HSED programs are emerging advertising online completion of the diploma, issuing the diploma certificate and transcript requests sent out to any inquiries." sentence. I can find over 30 of these sites but need a reliable source describing their emergence. Alatari (talk) 03:54, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The information can be taken straight from the publicly released Wisconsin state law: Alatari (talk) 05:52, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you link to where the content can be found. - Jarry1250 [ humourousdiscuss ] 09:04, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm finding the identical content on several pages all taken from the Wisconsin law. witch college, Fox Valley College, Moraine Tech. I'm not finding the entire transcript of the state law online. Alatari (talk) 06:07, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I reworded the content and could reorder the items but I'm not sure how much further I can change the wording without fundamentally changing the Wisconsins' laws meaning. Alatari (talk) 06:15, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find the actual law which would be public domain. Is the current wording acceptable? Alatari (talk) 18:18, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Admin lookover...

[edit]

Hi - I've had a look and this looks like a legitimate article topic, so I'm hesitating from deleting it - at least immediately. (Another admin might disagree with me however and proceed).

The cited material is taken from a .com website so it is not "free content". If it is promptly rewritten so the copyvio issues are removed, then the article will probably stand. If it does get rewritten to an acceptable standard, then I'll relocate it to HSED which is a better title. Manning (talk) 12:07, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I thought it was worthy. The laws supporting it are 2005 and later. California is allowing this since 2008. It will take me some time to find other states with similar laws. There is a danger with this page. There are many (I found 16 so far) online high schools offering an HSED. Some have been shown to be obvious frauds and one site even advertises to sell a fake HSED so the See Also section would need to watched like a hawk. A controversy or fraud section will be needed. New York state taken one to court one within the state borders. Alatari (talk) 18:43, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The phenomena seems to be needed to fill the need for home schooled students to get a diploma. Google scholar didn't show up studies on home schooling related to HSED but I'll try some more searching. Alatari (talk) 18:43, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
