Error in Howard Komives Page
[edit]On the Howard Komives page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Komives) the following statement in the “College Career” section is erroneous:
Komives still holds the Bowling Green single game scoring record of sixty six points. In this game, he was guarded by Sumner Goldstein, who would later go on to become an attorney.
The citation for this information (http://www.hoopsanalyst.com/ncaa.htm) had a broken link (error 403 file not found).
According to the Bowling Green State University (BGSU) basketball records website at: https://bgsufalcons.com/documents/2021/8/13//2021_22_BGSU_Men_s_Basketball_Record_Book.pdf?id=11842 [pages 18 and 19]
the BGSU individual game scoring record is 52 points by Jimmy Darrow in 1960 (against Toledo in overtime and Marshall). Howard Komives single game high scoring was 50 points in 1964 (against Niagara).
A better narrative would go something like this:
Komives still holds the single season scoring record at Bowling Green (after nearly 60 years) despite a fewer number of games and no three point shot when he played. Phillyphrank (talk) 20:58, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
