- I thought that the correct traditional spelling of French "Chalon" has the circumflex. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 08:44, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
- See fr:Maison de Chalon-Arlay. These houses are named after Chalon-sur-Saône (no circumflex) and the comtes de Chalon. There is a lot of confusion on this point, but there is no such place as Châlon and no such place as Chalons, only Chalon and Châlons. Also, should it be Chalon-Arlay or House of Chalon-Arlay?
