[edit]The content of this article has almost nothing to do with hoplology as a science and almost everything to do with the International Hoplological Society. There are a great many organizations out there devoted to hoplology... not just this one. Perhaps this content should be moved to a separate page devoted to that organization? - If hoplology is a science, then perhaps the article should read like a science article? Jodayagi (talk) 01:29, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
Not well cited, lack of particular citations supporting the content therein
[edit]This article states "genetic" predisposition towards violence as being inherent in human nature, and it is stated as truth
"The entrenched nature of violence in human behavior is generally well understood."
The two above points are just a few of the many dubiously ill sourced postulations in this article. The nature of combat in human nature may be one of necessity, rather than "genetic predisposition". I could equally argue that compassion and empathy are genetically predisposed, or that aggression and violence are defects in human nature, unnatural yet overpowering. Yet I too don't have sources, and my position is a matter of opinion!
I'd flag this for a revamp. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.51.233.2 (talk) 05:02, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- Both your comment and the one above make good points that I'm inclined to agree with. This page would benefit from outside of what the IHS has published. Jodayagi (talk) 18:15, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
