'Citation needed for XT5 engine version'

[edit]

In the Overview section of this article, I dispute the accuracy of the following text:

"..and were known as the XT5 versions, although are commonly referred to as the Blue motors."

The text is referring to the 'blue' 6-cylinder engine; however, I have ONLY ever seen Holden's engine code "XT5" applied to the performance option of the blue 5.0L V8 as fitted to the VC HDT 'Brock' Commodore (this can be confirmed on external articles such as https://www.whichcar.com.au/features/history-of-the-holden-v8-part-two-blue-black-motor-1980-to-2000) which is subsequently mentioned in this article (but does not mention this engine option). I am happy to be proven wrong, but in this case no reference is cited as the basis of this statement.

I have therefore added a 'citation needed' template to the original text amd propose if an appropriate citation is not added within an acceptable period (2 weeks?), the respective text is amended accordingly.

UPDATE: as no reference has been provided I have therefore removed reference to the XT5 and updated the text to read "The engine block on these motors were painted a blue colour (as opposed to the previous red) and were commonly referred to as the Blue motor" (with a Wikilink to relevant page for the Holden 6 'Blue'). Opel

[edit]

This car looks exactly like the Opel Commodore C with the grille of the Opel Senator A. Seems like a fairly simple rebadge job except for the engines, and the article should say so. --Cancun (talk) 12:48, 20 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
