Contested deletion

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... it is a page constructed to be a consortium of HTA material. All material is cited to reputable news and research outlets that have conducted extensive research on the topic. The page is not promotional, but in fact, falls within the boundaries of all Wikipedia pages: educational. The large majority of the page is cited, as stated above, to legitimate sources; which sections specifically are found to be inadequate? --Studentocean (talk) 01:28, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I removed a few of the blogs and right-wing PACs, but most of the article is still sourced to other political organizations rather than to scholarly books or news sources, ie. WP:RS. This means that not only do we not know any/most of the information is accurate, we also don't know that the organization is notable enough to merit an article, since for all we know just looking at this article, the two news articles cited are the only coverage of it. It is necessary to cite reliable sources both to attest notability and to make sure all information is accurate. –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 00:03, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Also with regard to notability, we'd need to see that the American organization had independent notability from the main organization, which already has an article - so the two news sources cited are actually totally inadequate. –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 00:04, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why were the videos deleted? They were supporting material for HTA education - the reader sees through video media the active, as well as advanced, nature of the group. They were clips of HTA members, HTA critics, & HTA proponents.

What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request
